This is the most common call we get. A circuit breaker trips when it detects more current flowing through the circuit than it's rated for — that's it doing its job. But when it trips repeatedly, something is causing that overcurrent condition persistently. Common causes: an overloaded circuit (too many high-draw appliances on one circuit), a short circuit somewhere in the wiring (damaged insulation allowing live and neutral to touch), a ground fault (current leaking to earth through a fault), or a failing appliance that's drawing excessive current. Our approach: we isolate circuits systematically, test each one, identify the faulty circuit, and then trace the fault to its source. We don't just reset and hope.

Flickering lights can range from a minor annoyance to a sign of serious wiring problems. If a single light flickers, it's likely a loose bulb, a failing fixture, or a poor connection at that specific point. If multiple lights flicker — especially when a large appliance kicks in (like your AC compressor) — it suggests the circuit is overloaded or there's a loose connection at the distribution board. Persistent, widespread flickering can indicate a failing main breaker, a loose neutral connection, or issues with the DEWA supply to your unit. We diagnose by starting at the fixtures and working back to the panel, testing connections and load at each point.

A warm outlet is never normal. It indicates either a loose connection inside the outlet (causing resistance, which generates heat), an overloaded circuit (too much current flowing through that outlet), or a failing outlet mechanism. In all cases, it's a fire risk. Unplug everything from the outlet, stop using it, and call us. We'll replace the outlet, check the wiring behind it, and test the circuit for proper loading.

If you're replacing bulbs in the same fixture constantly, the issue likely isn't the bulbs. Common causes: voltage fluctuations (the supply voltage is higher than what the bulbs are rated for), a poor connection in the fixture causing arcing, an incompatible dimmer switch (very common with LED bulbs), or excessive heat buildup in enclosed fixtures. We'll test the voltage at the fixture, inspect the connections, and identify why your bulbs aren't lasting.

If your DEWA bill has spiked without a clear change in usage, something in your electrical system might be drawing power you don't know about. Common culprits: a faulty appliance that's running continuously even when it shouldn't be (a failing thermostat on your water heater, for example), a water heater element that's coated in limescale and working overtime, an old AC unit that's lost efficiency, or — in rare cases — a wiring fault that's causing current leakage. Dubai has grown incredibly fast, and building standards have improved significantly over the years.
